"Vince Cunetto has just announced an aproximately 4 month ceative hiatus during which time he will not be accepting any new orders or building guitars. The Vinetto Artifact SC and DC guitars are among the most respected Tele and Strat style guitars on the market, built and aged by the man who started the whole pre-distressed look via the Cunetto Era Relic Fender Custom Shop guitars. At this point it is unclear whether the SC and DC models will still be on offer when Vince returns to building. I get the impresion that, from an artistic perspective, Vince feels like he is sort of like a photographer who has been taking the same photo every day for nearly 20 years and would like to find some new and innovatibve subject matter. We've discussed some of the ideas he has and I think when he starts building again we will have some amazing new produscts to offer. Stay Tuned........."

- Authentic body shapes, contours, woods, hardware styles and other appointments as inspired by the classic Fullerton, California styles of the 1950's and 60's. All bodies and necks are made from our own stock of woods to our exact specs. Body tonewoods are specially selected and graded for weight and tonality, and made using our proprietary and thoroughly researched plans and dimensions, assuring the best and most accurate shapes available today. Unlike many vintage pieces with less than ideal tolerances, all neck pockets and necks are precision machined for a tight fit neck/body fit to maximize vibrational unity thoughout the entire guitar.
- Period-correct neck shape profiles and constructions featuring a modernized 9.5" fingerboard radius for easier string bending and improved playability. Built to our own exclusive specifications and shapes, all necks utilize 100% quartersawn eastern hard maple neck blanks for stability and feature the exclusive Vinetto peghead profile and vintage-style tuners.
- Extremely thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, available in a variety of vintage colors. These are the same vintage colors and formulas we've been using for other guitars since the 90's.
- Selected vintage-style pickups wound to exacting specs from todays' best boutique winders, including Jason Lollar, Lindy Fralin and others.
- Each guitar is individually and artistically aged and cosmetically distressed by Vince Cunetto. Vince's experience and attention to detail assures that each guitar is painstakingly crafted for ultimate tone and playability with unmatched authenticity in aged vintage look and feel.

"Sadly, Vince called to speak with me in mid-February and told me to not take any more orders for his Artifact guitars. He's taking a "4 to 5 month creative Hiatus" and it is unclear what he will be building when he resumes operations. I got the impression that he was ready to move on from the "T" and "S" style guitars and begin a more unique and individual approach to the guitars that bear his name. I also got the sense that the aging process that he is famous for, having done the original "Cunetto Era" Relics for Fender in the mid-90's....guitars with iconic status in the marketplace....., is something with which he has become bored. There is still a high-demand for this type f guitar, but honestly, after 15 years of doing this who can blame him. No artist wants to, essentially, paint the same landscape over and over again; and VInce is a tre artist. This quite possibly means the end of the availability of some of the greatest "S" and "T" style guitar of our generation. Yes, there are many guys doing this type of guitar now, but very few have it down to the art form that Vince does and many are simply assembling parts guitars and calling them hand-made.
