Fano Guitars
In a world of guitars too beautiful to play and that seem more at home behind glass than slung low in a dark and sweaty club, it's refreshing to find a guitar like Fano; guitars meant to be played and that have a serious rock-n-roll vibe to them. At Fat Sound Guitars, we search for small batch guitar builders who build instruments that appeal to our aesthetic sense, but that also sound and play amazing. Fano Guitars embody our idea of what a guitar should be and we are extremely proud to offer these incredible, reasonably priced, hand-made guitars to our customers.

"I've always had an interest in building instruments that combined features from a variety of guitars - the guitars that might have existed in an alternate reality where the great American guitar makers and innovators of the 1950s would've existed under one roof, as a collective. That is the idea behind the Alt de Facto series.

The Alt de Facto models pay homage to some of the classic American guitar makers of the mid 20th century. From the aged nickel hardware and well-worn feel of the distressed lacquer finish to details such as the traditional German carved top of the RB6, the vibe is purely vintage.
Although the Alt de Facto's are built on a solid foundation of classic aesthetics and time-tested materials like alder, swamp ash and mahogany, they are propelled into the 21st century by features that include a compound radius fingerboard, TonePros and Gotoh hardware and custom wound Fralin pickups that deliver a wide range of tones suitable for any style of music.
Each Fano guitar is individually handcrafted one at a time, so no two are alike.

General DescriptionThis instrument definitely has some Jazzmaster qualities due to the mildly underwound Fralin P-90's and body shape (yes, body shapes affect tone), but without the unuseable JM style tremolo and complicated switching/tone circuitry. Shimmery, open and complex with fantastic bloom and sustain that mirror the Jazzmaster's style tonally while an added low end girth nicely balances the frequency range. Fantastic playability due to a perfect neck profile, worn in feel and flawless fretwork. The first contemporary guitar I have played that literally has a 45 year old feel to it. If your idea of a perfect guitar is one with meatier Jazzmaster qualities to the tone, the neck feel of a vintage Strat, but with a more modern radius and fretwire combined with the right hand palm rest position and logical, 3-way pickup selector of a Les Paul then this will be your dream guitar. It's a fantastic concept and one that is extremely well executed!
