We originally sold this beautiful Collings to a local player and friend in 2004. Mark Kane in repairs (Taylor, Martin and Collings authorized) installed our favorite dual source electronics package shortly thereafter.
The original owner has gradually morphed in to more of a parlor sized, finger style guitar player and recently traded this guitar in towards a smaller bodied instrument.
Not only has this guitar been well cared for, it appears nearly unplayed with no scratches, dings or gouges and only the slightest bit of fret wear in the first few positions. Flawless, as new neck angle.
•Dark East Indian Rosewood back and sides
•Clean, Clear Adirondack Spruce top with a nice natural amber color (currently a $1,000.00msrp upcharge)
•14 frets clear of the body
• 1 3/4" nut width
• Dreadnought size
• Herringbone binding and rosette
• Original, Deluxe Collings Archtop case
Based on one of the most iconic Pre-War guitars in the history of acoustics, the Collings D2HA is one of the most sought after guitars on the market. Finding a used piece in this condition is rare. The guitar possesses an enormous, articulate tone with a big, breathy low end and a shimmery top with tremendous harmonic complexity inside the box. The harder you play the louder it gets without compression or distortion yet the action is low with zero fret rattle.
The K&K system is our favorite dual source system and includes a small, belt pack preamp with a volume control for the internal mic' and for the dual transducers which are light as a feather and have been professionally mounted to the bridge plate inside the guitar. A very non-invasive install and a wonderfully accurate sounding system.
