Mike Krause
Mike Krause studied drums and mallet percussion (marimba/vibes) from an early age at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. He went on to receive a performance scholarship from the Berklee College Of Music in Boston and afterward continued his music studies with master drummer Alan Dawson. Krause played drums in area groups that included members from Patty Griffin, Levon Helm, Throwing Muses and Ronnie Earl among others. By the early 1990’s a germinating interest in the guitar led him to focus exclusively on the instrument.
Krause has since performed in a wide spectrum of contexts including the International Country Music Festival in Zurich, Switzerland, multiple appearances at SXSW in Austin, TX, countless gigs as a veteran sideman and as a recording session musician.
He has appeared as a guitarist on CD’s with Big Al Anderson, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Tift Merritt, Ryan Adams, Caitlin Cary, Thad Cockrell, Tres Chicas, The Two Dollar Pistols, Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass Kickin Team, P.J. O’Connell, Chandler Travis and members of Ben Folds Five, The Jayhawks, Cry Of Love and NRBQ.
Krause is currently available for private instruction in guitar in a variety of musical styles including rock, pop, country, r&b, blues and acoustic music along with flat picking, finger picking and hybrid picking techniques, music theory, reading & ear training.

Blair Linthicum
Blair specializes in teaching beginner to intermediate players and is fantastic with kids. His primary client base consists of Middle School and High School aged kids, but Blair also teaches many beginning adult players.
Blair has been with Fat Sound Guitars™ since 1993 and has an extremelty low attrition rate due to the fact that his students are very comfortable with his teaching style and their parents feel their children progress rapidly and maintain a high level of enthusiasm while under his tutelage. Blair is a parent himself and relates very well to children of all ages.
